It may be hard to know what to do in situations like this.

When we don't know what to do....do something. If you are not sure, a suggestion is to find ways to help those who might be most like yourselves: families, senior citizens, business owners, animal lovers, nature lovers, musicians and music lovers. The list goes on and on.

To date, the reports are that 104 human lives have been lost. They search is ongoing for additional missing.

Specifics of the flood are available from numerous sources and that is not the focus of this message.

This evening my intention is to share with as many of you as we can reach, specific ways that

May the Goddess hold us all
May the Goddess hold us all

donations can be made that will most directly reach those who are suffering extreme loss.

This is not an all-inclusive list, however it is a list with links, grouped in a few essential categories that have been confirmed as reliable and actively working in the area.

We continue to seek information regarding grassroots organizations with feet on the ground that need assistance. If you have contacts, please reach out to us so we can share that information. We are updating daily.

We send our ongoing prayers of support and solace to all impacted by this tragedy.

The list of areas impacted continues to expand.

The flash floods have caused deaths in six counties. In addition to Kerr County there have also been confirmed deaths in Travis, Williamson, Burnet, Tom Green and Kendall counties.

Presbyterian Church in Kerrville with a relief fund (choose flood fund from the drop-down)

Kerr County Food Relief Fund

Note these funds DO NOT go directly to victims.

Grants from the Fund will support nonprofit organizations, first responder agencies, and local governments actively involved in response, relief, and recovery efforts. While we are unable to award grants directly to individuals or families - or to fund repairs to private property or replace personal belongings - we are committed to channeling resources to the trusted organizations working tirelessly to help our neighbors in need. Together, we can make a meaningful difference during this challenging time.

World Central Kitchen

https://wck.org/relief/central-tx-floods-25        There is a donate button at the bottom of the page.

Grape Juice Restaurant in Kerrville

Daric Easton, owner of the “Grape Juice” restaurant in Kerrville, is helping the community by making sandwiches. They cooked their entire inventory on the first day without a second thought. “If I keep making sandwiches, people can still be fed. If responders are fed, then they can save lives. And, uh, that's, that's really the mantra we've just been, just keep making sandwiches," Easton said. They are taking ingredient donations at 623 Water Street in Kerrville or you can donate from afar here.

Operation BBQ Relief

Disaster Response - Has been deployed to Texas Disaster Response

“Our teams and volunteers work around the clock to ensure communities in need receive a hot meal, letting those affected by natural disasters know that they are not forgotten,” said Stan Hays, CEO and Co-Founder. “If you just lost your home, a hot meal can provide comfort and immediate relief in the wake of devastation.”

Hands Off Central Texas

Hands Off Central TX is raising funds and resources for mutual aid including housing, food, transportation (gas) and medical needs for Central Texans affected by the July 4 flood.  Supplies will be distributed based on asks from the counties affected by the floods with an emphasis on needs not being filled by churches, the National Guard, and local government. If you or your business can offer resources other than cash (housing, vehicles, clothing, medical supplies, water, food, pet supplies +) please email us at president@handsoffcentraltx.org      All donations are tax deductible. Thank you for caring for our community. Transparency: Receipts will be published and this fundraiser will be used specifically and only for mutual aid for our neighbors affected by the July 4 flood damage to lives, homes, businesses, and vehicles.

Kerrville Folk Festival

When you scroll down, you’ll find a dedicated button to contribute directly to Flood Disaster Relief in Kerr County. These funds will be used to meet immediate needs in the community, and any remaining funds will be donated to a trusted local relief organization to support long-term recovery. All donations will be processed through the Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation, and tax acknowledgment letters will be provided at year’s end.

We’re also exploring the idea of partnering with other local arts organizations to host a community benefit concert—a way to gather, grieve, and heal through the music that connects us all.
