Sunday Sharing - Autumnal Equinox
This year, Autumnal Equinox has an attitude with me. As in, not leaving me alone. In preparation, I've done what I was supposed to do and now I'm relaxing on this Eve.
However, apparently, I have a few more words to say:
When life throws you a curveball, sometimes you just want to call foul.
But then another one comes. And another. Before long, there are curveballs coming from every direction. From different bases. From the pitcher. And who is the pitcher, anyway?
Who is running this show?
At a certain point, it all begins to feel busy. Messy. Sometimes chaotic.
And that is difficult for someone who really likes a good plan. I have mentioned this before. A good plan orders my thinking. It orders my day. It orders my life.
Yes, I know plans change. I even build time into my plans for plans to change. I leave room for thinking, reconsidering, and adjusting. I like to think I am highly adaptable. That is a good life skill to have.
But the truth is, I have discovered that I am not nearly as adaptable as I thought, especially when the curveballs keep coming my way.
So this Autumnal Equinox, I am dancing with curveballs and trying to keep my balance. I am relying on the Divine to at least say, “It’s okay. You’re dancing as well as you can.”
Sometimes with grace.
Sometimes not.
Autumnal Equinox has made it quite clear that the dance will continue for as long as it needs to...that whole balance thing, you know?
So...Blessed Autumnal Equinox.
Blessed be.
